Magical Abilities
Luck Rory is a seventh son of a seventh son. It means that he's unnaturally lucky. Magically speaking he's a very narrow focused order mage, only able to effect his own actions. Things just tend to go his way. They don't really fall in his lap, but he's never been concerned about something going wrong because they rarely do. (Those few instances where they do go wrong tend to be when his twin sister Grace - who is a thirteenth child - is around. They cancel each other out.)
Because of this he's capable of pulling off tricks that normal people couldn't be able to do. Playing darts with him is a bad idea for example because he will win by a narrow margin. Even if he tosses the dart from an impossible angle he will somehow just hit the board in the right spot. This luck usually turns up in games of chance or when things are up in the air. He's banned from sports games/competitions because his luck will make it so his team will just be able to win. His dice will always come up with exactly the number he needs to win at the last toss. He's not allowed to roll his own dice at tabletop games with family - though his dice tend to keep some of his luck and they're occasionally stolen for ... nefarious purposes.
He's basically a walking talking ball of good luck.
Hero's Luck
This is the sort of luck that a person has that lets them get out of a scrape in the knick of time - a good example being Indiana Jones being able to just get under the closing door out from the trap and grab his hat as well. Or just being able to leap across the building. Or having a bullet just miss killing him. This, however, only tends to kick in when he’s protecting people - or being heroic as it’s hero’s luck. So, if he’s doing something maliciously it’s not likely going to work.
Mayhem Mayhem is a cute, fluffy, sweetest little grey kitten you'd ever meet with the IQ of a rock and the ability to eat anything. Anything includes: Organic materials, inorganic materials and magic. Since he's part goblin he can't be poisoned. The only visible indication of his not completely pure catness are three rows of shark-like teeth. Another unique ability of Mayhem's (if eating everything wasn't enough) is his ability to teleport. He's generally able to teleport through anything - no wards in Rory's world have managed to keep him in or out - and he can teleport about 45-50 ft at a time.
Ceilidh Ceilidh is one of Rory's nieces through one of his elder sisters, Siobhan. At five years old she's friendly, energetic and completely unafraid of anything and anyone. This is mostly because she thinks that everyone will be her friend - no matter who or what they are. When wandering out and about Rory is usually around keeping an eye on her, even if it might look like she's alone. Unless she happens to be somewhere like school and she breaks out.
Her particular knack is the ability to speak with and understand magical animals as well as a tracking ability - which she hasn't realized yet but it's why she's so good at finding strange creatures. She's also fairly typical McCallum even if she's going through the blood thirsty stage that they all go through and eventually learn to channel into other endeavors.
Permissions notes on Magic As Ceilidh's magic is very tied to her world it’s perfectly reasonable to believe that when dealing with creatures not from her world they won’t work as well or at all. Rory's luck is also tied to his world so it is also reasonable to say that it won't work perfectly outside of it. So, please let me know of any sort of shenanigans to happen with his luck or Ceilidh's abilities.
CONTACT Yes
FIGHTING Yes. He's likely to pick a fight as well. (Ceilidh may bite, but will be discussed)
INJURING Yes - but discuss first.
KILLING No
THREADJACK Yes
BACKTAG Yes
He doesn’t do random violence but he sees nothing wrong with hunting down someone who has been killing people and putting them down so they can’t hurt others. It’s this idea of making sure someone can’t hurt others that’s a driving force of his way of thinking. He must protect other people from harm, even if it means getting hurt or killed himself or someone else getting hurt or killed.
Obviously something like this will be needed to be discussed before any actions take place. Please feel free to leave a comment or message me so that such discussions can be made about what might happen in a possible combat situation.
